The National Health Mission declared the village Badagaon, Meerut District, Uttar Pradesh as “Plastic Waste Free” as mensurates of all age groups switched to Menstrual Cups

Improved Menstrual Hygiene:

  • 3,000 GynoCups distributed and deployed, enhancing hygiene for underprivileged women.

  • 5 awareness sessions conducted, educating women on menstrual health and proper cup usage.

Environmental Sustainability:

  • Avoided 6 million disposable pads from ending in landfills, reducing plastic waste and pollution.

  • Prevented the use of 6 million plastic bags, further minimizing environmental impact.

  • Diverted 1000 tons of sanitary waste from landfills, contributing to cleaner surroundings.

Health and Economic Benefits:

  • Reduced risk of UTIs and other infections for women using GynoCups.

  • Long-term cost savings for participants due to reusable cups.

Gender Empowerment:
