Himalayan Hemp Cooperative Model

“If we have to build the nation, we have to start from the villages"

We work with Himalayan Hemp (www.himalayanhemp.in) to make cloth, paper and construction material from Hemp based on a Cooperative model to engage artisans from Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.

Himalayan Hemp Cooperative Model

Himalayan Hemp's Corporate-Cooperative Hybrid Model is focused on building a home-equity based hemp family culture with innovation integration, conscious environmental awareness and eco-industrial practices. An entire social enterprise can be focused around hemp by creating holistic community engagement platforms that builds and sustains future for generations to come. The model consists of engagement of various stakeholders- farmers, self-help groups, gram panchayats, government bodies and private investors to develop innovative solutions for a sustainable economy.  Business models for hemp-based products proposed here is making paper from hemp plant. The initiative is environment friendly, sustainable and builds village industries.
